Indianapolis, IN. – The Pawns & Kings Tour featuring Alter Bridge, MammothWVH and the band RED thundered into the Murat Theatre at Old National Centre Wednesday night to a full house.
Kicking the night off was the band RED showcasing a great mix of songs from their seven studio albums with number eight (RATED R) slotted to release sometime in 2023!! This Christian Metal band out of Nashville, TN includes Michael Barnes (vocals), brothers Anthony Armstrong (guitar) and Randy Armstrong (bass) with Brian Medeiros on drums. Unfortunately, RED’s last night on the tour is Saturday the 18th in Chicago but no worries, I’m sure we will see them back out once that new album drops – We can’t wait!
Next up was MammothWVH and THIS band needs no introduction! Featuring Wolfgang Van Halen (lead vocals, guitar, bass, drums, piano), Frank Sidoris (rhythm & lead guitar), Jon Jourdan (rhythm guitar), Ronnie Ficarro (bass) and Garrett Whitlock (drums), MammothWVH is currently out in support of their 2021 self-titled debut album. Wolfgang confirmed recently that the band has started recording their second album! That’s great news for MammothWVH fans!! The band will continue on the Pawns & Kings tour till the end of March before joining up with Metallica overseas in April.

Finally, it was time for the main event and you could feel the anticipation in the room. With a quick set change, the stage was set for the Pawns & Kings Tour to thunder its way into the theatre – And with a flash of bright light, Alter Bridge featuring Myles Kennedy (lead vocals, rhythm/lead guitar), Mark Tremonti (lead/rhythm guitar), Brian Marshall (bass) and Scott Phillips (drums) made their way to the stage and proceeded to take fans on a full 90 minute ride through their catalog including songs from the new album Pawns & Kings (out now via Napalm Records).
