Philadelphia, PA – Sandwiched between “Home is Where” and “Foxing”, a little band called Greet Death from Flint, Michigan brought their heartfelt lyrics and brashness to the stage at World Café Live in Philly.
With two full albums under their belt, Dixieland (Flesh and Bone Records) in 2017 and their most recent album, New Hell, which includes single “New Low” on (Deathwish Inc.) released in 2019, Greet Death are up-and-coming artists that you really need to get to know!
Greet Death consists of Samuel Boyhtari on vocals/guitar, Logan Gaval (great sense of humor) on vocals/guitar, Jackie Kalmink on bass and Jimmy Versluis on drums. The band’s music can be light and melodic with a techno twist, or punkish and hard rock, with lyrics dark and moody.
Tonight the band played a six-song set and really rocked the house! They focused on their new material with some of the older as well. Logan joked with the crowd and is very witty and funny. The lyrics may be dark and moody, but the music is upbeat with a rock base, like a blend of Nirvana with Pink Floyd. Logan can really wale on the guitar while Sam’s vocals add a smooth touch.
