Carmel, IN. – It was Valentine’s Day and love was in the air. Love for music, love for jam bands, love for singing guitar solos and most definitely love for Warren Haynes. The singer/songwriter/guitar player best known for his work with Gov’t Mule and The Allman Brothers Band is currently out touring behind his most recent album, Million Voices Whisper (available now via Fantasy Records). The sold out crowd at The Palladium at the Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, IN. was tuned in and ready to share the love.

Warren was joined on stage by Gov’t Mule bandmate bassist Kevin Scott, former Dirty Dozen Brass Band drummer Terence Higgins, keyboard wizard Matt Slocum, and sax player Greg Osby, whom Warren had previously shared the stage with on some Phil Lesh and Friends tour dates. This tight band coupled with Warren’s exquisite guitar work and powerhouse vocals grabbed the crowd from the first note. Volumes can be written about Warren’s contributions to music but I am especially impressed how his songwriting and vocals have expanded with this latest release and tour. Don’t get me wrong, Warren has always been at the top of his game but I find a deeper urgency to spreading his message of love and respect for all people predominant in this latest batch of songs. Co-conspirators on the album include Lukas Nelson, Derek Trucks and Jamey Johnson. Make sure to give it a listen.

Tonight’s two sets not only highlighted material from Million Voices Whisper but touched across his entire catalog including tunes from Gov’t Mule, the Grateful Dead and The Allman Brothers Band. Words can’t really express the power and musicianship coming off the stage, you just have to go see the show and share the love for yourself. The tour is out through early summer across the U.S. before the band hops over to Europe for a handful of dates.  Check Warren’s website or local listings for a show near you. Don’t miss the opportunity to catch one of the best live shows currently out touring!
