Washington, D.C. – The second night of my coverage of Crypta on the road takes me to Songbyrd Music House in the nations capitol, where the death metal veterans throw down with support from DC’s death rockers Cemetery Sex and Sterling, Virginia’s groove metallers Seikilos.
The last time I saw Seikilos live was a couple of years ago when they were a four piece. Currently they are a three piece and according to Encyclopedia Metallum, they are described as a groove metal band. I don’t know exactly what they were playing, they brought two guys on stage who rapped at a couple of points during the set. The crowd liked what they saw and heard.

I was pretty excited to see Cemetery Sex based on the YouTube videos I watched of them live. I think some people would dismiss them as a band with a pretty front woman who wears sexy clothes and dances around onstage. Anastasia does that, but she has a voice and sing her ass off!!! She is backed up by a solid group of musicians including Cristian Rojas and David A. A trip to Washington, D.C. is not complete unless you get an opportunity to see Cemetery Sex live!!!
I wanted to shoot Crypta in a small place to get the feel of the chaos they would unleash on the crowd, and that is what what I got!! SongByrd Music House has a capacity of 150, and while it wasn’t a sold out show, the dedicated brought the mosh and some attempts at crowd surfing. Their setlist is the same from the previous night, just delivered with a bit more ferocity!!!

The “In The Other Side Tour” runs through October 12th with the last stop at Cambridge, Massachusetts. As I stated in the previous article, they are now touring with Claustrofobia, this is one of the sickest tour packages of the fall!!! Don’t miss out!!!
