Noblesville, IN. – They’re Back! Emily Strayer (banjo, dobro, guitar, backing vocals), Martie McQuire (fiddle, mandolin, backing vocals) and Natalie Maines (lead vocals, guitar) a.k.a. The Chicks returned to Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, IN as promised to redo the show they attempted back in June. Lead singer Natalie Maines had to make a hard call and cancel the Ruoff date after only five songs in. Informing fans at the time that she was struggling with allergies and was “waiting for a steroid shot to kick in and hoping for the best”. Ultimately, she told the crowd “she couldn’t pull it off” and called it a night; apologizing to the Indy fans. Due to strict doctor’s orders for vocal rest, two more dates were cancelled in Clarkston, MI and Cincinnati, OH, all of which are being made up this week (Sept 28 – Oct 2) as The Chicks wind down their GASLIGHTER tour.

And what a show it was! Full of energy and strong vocal performances by Maines, The Chicks delivered the show they had promised Indy back in June! Playing all the favorites while still highlighting songs off their 2020 release GASLIGHTER (out now via Columbia Records), The Chicks gave a solid two-hour performance to fans of all ages.

I am a freelance photographer based in Indianapolis, Indiana specializing in concert and event photography. With my childhood love for music and photography plus the added influence from my mother (a Broadway Company Manager) and later from my husband (a live sound engineer) it seemed only natural to combine my passions and pursue my craft more seriously. I have been blessed with great opportunities to shoot fabulous performers and look forward to sharing my work and new adventures with Digital Beat Magazine.
