Atlanta, GA – The Shaky Knees Music Festival returned for its 11th year with a jam-packed lineup for 2024. Held in Central Park in the Fourth Ward of downtown Atlanta, this 3-day festival hosted close to 40,000 fans for almost 12 hours a day of non-stop music! Highlighting some of the hottest bands in the Rock and Indie scene, this year’s headliners featured Young the Giant, Arcade Fire, Noah Kahan (Friday Night), The Offspring, Queens of the Stone Age, Weezer (Saturday Night), and closing (Sunday Night) with Portugal. The Man, Billy Idol and the Foo Fighters.
Teamed with corporate partners to enhance the festival experience, fans could visit BEYOND THE MUSIC which had several opportunities to get out of the sun, cool down, take in the sites, get an airbrush tattoo or festival swag – all while enjoying a refreshing cocktail. There was even a place to charge your phone while still checking out the main stage. There were four stages in total for the crowd to rotate between to catch their favorite band. Shaky Knees had it all!
For the most part, the weather held out with sunny skies both Friday and Saturday with a nice display of heat lightning Saturday night as Weezer closed out their set. Sunday did not fair as well but the afternoon downpours didn’t seem to discourage the crowd in the slightest. It’s a chance you take when attending an outdoor festival and you’re either prepared with your raincoat/poncho or you just get wet and dance through the mud. After all, the Foos were closing out the festival with an over two hour set full of exuberant energy – it doesn’t get much better than that!
