Indianapolis, IN. – It may have started off a little stormy on Sunday June 23rd, but the clouds parted just in time for the gates to open at The Lawn at White River State Park. Gov’t Mule was in town and they brought Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe along with them to get the party started – and that is exactly what KDTU did! Featuring songs off their new release, Gnomes and Badgers, this groovin’ seven-piece ensemble featuring players Karl Denson (saxophone, flute, vocals), DJ Williams (guitar), Zak Najor (drums), Chris Stillwell (bass), David Veith (keyboards), Chris Littlefield (trumpet), and Seth Freeman (guitar, lap steel) are smokin’ hot and sure to get you up off your feet and dancing in the aisles.
Keeping the party going, Gov’t Mule stepped onto the stage and got right down to business with what they do best – a good old fashion jam session! Featuring a set of classics and new fan favorites, Warren Haynes (vocal, guitar), Matt Abts (drums), Danny Louis (keys) and Jorgen Carlsson (bass) would slip in the occasional tease of a familiar favorite before playing out the tune at hand. It was an energetic set worth seeing for the fans that braved the earlier forecast and showed up for the event! Which in return, Mother Nature rewarded the loyal crowd by holding off the storms and dropping the humidity for what ended up being a perfect night of music under the stars. Make sure to catch the Summer of ’19 Tour as it makes its way across the U.S. through September.
