Fishers, IN. – It was a fantastic night of music when NATHANIEL RATELIFF AND THE NIGHT SWEATS along with opener THE TESKEY BROTHERS brought the SOUTH OF HERE TOUR to Indy’s newest venue, FISHERS EVENT CENTER, in the heart of Fishers, IN. – a new 65,000 square feet, state-of-the-art arena that has a seating capacity of 7500 and is home to THREE professional sports teams: INDY FUEL HOCKEY CLUB (ECHL), INDY IGNITE (Professional Volleyball Federation) and FISHERS FREIGHT (Indoor Football League). ASM GLOBAL (one of the leading producers of entertainment experiences) really out did themselves with this facility! Expanding on the already popular FISHERS DISTRICT which boasts 18 acres of dining and retail options, FISHERS EVENT CENTER is sure to become a favorite venue for the upper Northside and surrounding areas.

Kicking off the night was THE TESKEY BROTHERS featuring JOSH TESKEY (vocals/rhythm guitar) and SAM TESKEY (lead guitar). This is a band I’ve been wanting to catch and they didn’t disappoint. Hailing from Warrandyte Australia, the brothers from down under gave a full hour set showcasing songs from their first three albums, along with their most recent extended play THE CIRCLE SESSION (out now via IVY LEAGUE RECORDS). If you like soulful grooves with blues, rock guitar and R&B vocals, you’ll dig these cats. They’ll be out with NATHANIEL RATELIFF AND THE NIGHT SWEATS till the end of March before heading to UK and Europe for the summer. But don’t fret, they’ll be back in the US to hit the festivals this September including BOURBON & BEYOND in Louisville, KY and BORDERLAND MUSIC FESTIVAL in East Aurora, NY to just name a few.

Before I talk about the headliner, I’d like to mention the amazing work being done by THE MARIGOLD PROJECT. Founded by NATHANIEL RATELIFF in 2017, this incredible cause is dedicated to economic, racial, and social justice that support community and nonprofit organizations. They believe that ALL people deserve to be treated with respect and seek to fund strategies that solve problems caused by income inequality, boost civic engagement, spark creativity, offer equitable access to growing and eating good food, and encourage gender and racial justice. For this event they teamed with ASM GLOBAL ACTS and local business FISHERS FLOWER FARM to hand out custom commemorative marigold packets to attendees in exchange for donations to THE MARIGOLD PROJECT. NATHANIEL RATELIFF AND THE NIGHT SWEATS featuring NATHANIEL RATELIFF (lead vocals, guitar, piano), JOSEPH POPE III (bass), PATRICK MEESE (drums), LUKE MOSSMAN (guitar), MARK SHUSTERMAN (keys), ANDY WILD (baritone sax, bass clarinet), DANIEL HARDAWAY (trumpet), and JEFF DAZEY (tenor sax) kicked their set off with the opening tune “DAVID AND GOLIATH” from their latest album, SOUTH OF HERE out now via STAX RECORDS. From there they continued through a thirteen song set that highlighted tunes from their 2024 release, along with fan favorites from previous albums. They did throw in one cover of the beloved BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN hit, “DANCING IN THE DARK” of which gave the charismatic frontman an opportunity to show off his fabulous dance moves.

The band will be out touring on the SOUTH OF HERE tour through the end of June. They join up with THE LUMINEERS in Colorado August 2nd, then join the BOURBON & BEYOND line-up September 11-14th (their appearance will be Sunday the 14th). If you can, make sure to catch them as they have one of the best stage performances on the circuit today and are always full of energy and good times. Plus, the music can’t be beat!!
