Indianapolis, IN. – What a night of music! The Monster Energy Outbreak Tour featuring Larkin Poe with Tyler Bryant brought a terrific night of blues and rock to the Vogue Theatre in Broad Ripple on Saturday Evening. What a night it was…after the opening band had to step away for a couple weeks, Tyler Bryant (of Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown AND Rebecca Lovell’s husband) stepped up to fill in and joined the tour as the opening act. With nothing but a guitar and a kick drum, Tyler quickly grabbed the attention of the crowd with his mixture of blues and rock with a side of Nashville, TN. Often engaging the crowd with stories of who he was (as if we weren’t familiar) and where he came from, he was grateful to be able to have a break in his own tour to fill in and open for Larkin Poe (not to mention the added bonus of spending some time with his wife on the road!).

Tyler will be out with the sister duo Larkin Poe for another week on the Monster Energy Outbreak tour before The Collection joins the tour mid October. But no worries, as Tyler will join back up for selected dates in November and December. In the meantime, be sure to check out Tyler and the Shakedown’s new single “Born Rockin” (official video below) and catch them out on their own tour October and November! After a quick set change it was time for Rebecca (guitar, lead vocals) and Megan Lovell (lapsteel, harmony vocals) – otherwise known as Larkin Poe – to take the stage along with accompanying musicians Kevin McGowan (drums) and Tarka Layman (bass, keys, BGV’s). The girls, always smiling and full of energy, got right down to business kicking the set off with a couple tunes from their 2020 release Self Made Man before diving into their catalog of tunes and pulling out fan favorites including “Trouble in Mind”, “Bleach Blonde Bottle Blues”, and a personal favorite, “Preachin’ Blues”, a smoking cover composed by the legendary Son House. Overall, it was a fabulous night of Blues, Roots Rock, and Americana that had the crowd on their feet dancing, singing, and begging for more!
