Indianapolis, IN. – On a stormy evening at Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park in Indianapolis, Dispatch delivered a soul-stirring performance that perfectly balanced nostalgia and reinvention. The band, known for their genre-blending mix of folk, rock, and reggae, proved once again why they’ve maintained such a devoted following for over two decades. From the moment they hit the stage the crowd was fully engaged, singing along with infectious energy. Highlights included fan favorites like “Skin the Rabbit” and “Bang Bang,” each delivered with tight harmonies and raw emotion. Dispatch’s stage presence felt both intimate and electric, leaning into heartfelt moments while still bringing festival-level energy. In between sets, Dispatch reminded us of their charitable causes teaming up with the Propeller Organization to give fans a chance to win tickets or merch with donations for Love Light + Melody and Calling All Crows – Learn more here for ways to participate!

The night was made even richer by a diverse and well-curated lineup of other acts on stage. Donavon Frankenreiter and G.Love set the tone early with their signature blend of surf rock and hip-hop blues, bringing laid-back charm and groovy guitar licks to the stage before bringing out “Special Sauce” to join them and turning the dial up a notch. The storms may have cooled things down but it took no time for Donavon with G.Love and Special Sauce to heat the night back up! They encouraged audience participation with sing-alongs and maintained a warm rapport that made the amphitheater feel like a campfire gathering. Their rhythmic jams blues-infused swagger brought a playful, danceable vibe that energized the crowd.

John Butler (with Band) added a deeply resonant layer to the evening, delivering a set that was equal parts meditative and fiery. His masterful guitar work — especially during extended instrumental breaks — captivated the audience, and his lyrics carried a depth that invited introspection. Songs like “Ocean”, “Better Than” and his latest single “So Sorry” were standouts, showcasing both his technical skill and his emotional range. Butler’s set was a compelling prelude to Dispatch, amplifying the communal, conscious spirit that defined the night. We can’t wait till his 10th studio album PRISM hits the stores September 5th, 2025!
