Greenville, SC – Emerging from the west coast, alternative rock wave of the ’90s, Everclear is celebrating 2022 as 30-years strong with a reissue of debut album World of Noise (made for a mere $400 in 1993) and accompanying North America tour featuring special guests Fastball and The Nixons.
Three decades after the 1993 release by Tim Kerr Records, band founder Art Alexakis (vocals, guitar) and longtime bandmates Davey French (guitar), Freddy Herrera (bass), and Brian Nolan (drums) continue to showcase their established influence. On Friday, July 1st, Greenville’s Cowboy Up was filled to the brim with an energetic crowd ready to experience the appeal of Everclear as a live band and a setlist that highlighted a full career of songs splashing with convictions, character, coping and triumph. The evening would include songs from the debut album, World of Noise, which has recently been remastered and available for the first time on all digital music streaming platforms.
The road has been described as a long one for Art and Everclear, although Alexakis is clearly full steam ahead and ready to add to the band’s resilience and legacy. Alexakis had even went public in 2019 with a multiple sclerosis diagnosis and continued with an active life on the road.
“Three decades as a band is quite the reason for celebration,” exclaims Alexakis. “I’m almost 60 years old. I’ve got MS. I’ve been through the ringer, but I’m still here. The music’s still here. Everclear is still here. Everclear is my band; it always has been. Its faces have changed, but the music stays the same. We’ve got a great band now, we’re tight as hell, we all love and respect each other, and we just go out and put on the best show we can every night. I’m blessed that I get to do this for a living and am truly grateful for my life.”
Everclear will also be returning to the UK in the fall of 2022, as well as Australia in early 2023.
