Fredericksburg, VA – Near the edge of Fredericksburg, Hard Times Café at Four Mile Fork hosted two great country artists this last Friday for an engaging night of live music. Attendees were ready for an evening of new music and old favorites, and these artists did not disappoint.
Eric Burgett is an up and coming country artist, currently on a national tour. The tour includes shows at venues as well as truck bed concerts, a specialty of Burgett’s. Unlike most country artists, Burgett does not bring along his own guitar to perform with, he brings his piano. He is an incredibly talented pianist, who uses his skills to bring a unique touch to his music.
Burgett signed with Bow to Stern Management in 2017, and has opened for many notable acts including Chris Stapleton, Rodney Atkins, Phil Vassar and more. He puts on a solid show, and despite some technical difficulties the night of the concert, his professionalism and experience allowed the performance to go on flawlessly. His single, “Swing Low, Sweet Old Cadillac”, hit #28 on the Music Row Country Breakout Chart.
Opening for Eric Burgett was Scott McMillen & The Chase. While he grew up in West Virginia, he splits his time now between the Washington DC area and Nashville, TN. He has performed extensively in the Fredericksburg area. While playing locally, McMillen performs with The Chase, which includes Barry Moore on drums, Amanda Rae on back-up vocals, Lin Shay on lead guitar, Junior Syrkes on bass and back-up vocals. McMillen also included his daughter in the band, singing back-up vocals during the show. Original songs by McMillen include “Pull Me Back” and “Flip Flop Tan”.
Hard Times Café at Four Mile Fork is a great local venue, providing the historic city of Fredericksburg with live entertainment, as well as food and drinks. The artists and acts featured by them are extensive, and include everything from a wide variety of music genres, to DJs, to trivia nights.
