Indianapolis, IN. – It was another SOLD OUT show at the Egyptian Room inside Old National Centre but tonight was a little different; this evening the performance was seated vs. the normal standing room only and quick glance around at the room showed it to be a more seasoned crowd vs. the usual twenty-somethings that frequent live shows. It was Friday night in the big city and couples, friends and families alike gathered for a night of pure rhythm & blues with a side of rock and roll and a dash of jazz thrown in. The multi-talented Beth Hart was in the house and she brought along blues wiz-kid (now young adult) Quinn Sullivan to open the night’s performance.
Quinn Sullivan, accompanied by vocalist/mandolin player Chris Bloniarz, came out to a full house. Kicking off the evening with tunes from his 2020 album Wide Awake (out now via Provogue Records), the 30 minute packed set showcased what Quinn is best known for, highlighting his polished blues guitar licks while also featuring his songwriting chops. Having been mentored by legendary blues guitarist Buddy Guy since a very young age, Quinn has a lasting presence about him that you can feel is just getting started. Expect to hear and see more of Quinn as time goes by.

Next up, Beth Hart took the stage. I mean literally TOOK THE STAGE! If you want to get a blues rock crowd up on their feet and out of their seats, Beth Hart and her 3-piece band have the answer – fire off 4 covers in a row made famous by Led Zeppelin with stunning showmanship; what a way to start a show! Her backing band Jon Nichols (guitar), Tom Lilly (bass) & Bill Ransom (drums) was solid and tight, laying down a powerful groove for Beth to soar her commanding vocal over. The set was a nicely-paced mix of both old and new tunes including a couple of Melody Gardot covers that the crowd seemed to really enjoy.
Beth is a presence on stage that you can’t take you eyes off of. Engaging the audience in every corner – alternately prowling, prancing, emoting and at times sitting down on the edge of the stage – mere feet from the crowd. A close and intimate experience, often chatting up the crowd with personal stories and struggles, Beth Hart delivered what every fan has come to learn to expect from her: A night and performance they will never forget! Be sure to catch Beth out on THE THANKFUL TOUR across the US until the first of May before heading across the pond for a run through Europe. You can click here for dates near you.
