Silver Spring, MD – Tampa, Florida’s Kamelot continues the “Awaken The World” tour with a North America run and supporting them is the Finnish power metal outfit Battle Beast and German symphonic metal band Xandria.
Returning to the US after being absent for a few years, Xandria started off the night with what some would consider a criminally short set of songs mostly from their eighth full length album The Wonders Still Awaiting released February 3rd, 2023. The fans loved seeing them after not playing in the US for so long and were disappointed when the set was over. This was my first time seeing Xandria live and I liked what I heard, I hope at some point in the future to catch them live again.

Like Xandria, it has been a few years since Battle Beast has graced US audiences with their presence. Much of the audience in my estimation was there for Battle Beast by their response and the band responded with more energy as they played songs from their most recent effort Circus of Doom as well as some older material. Battle Beast is a fun band to see live, especially with the crowd last night. One of my friends attended the show and said “Battle Beast killed it!!!”

Touring in support of their thirteenth full length album, The Awakening, Kamelot came out and started their set with “Veil of Elysium” with background vocal support from Ad Infinitum vocalist Melissa Bonny. Kamelot‘s set included a good amount of older material as well so there is definitely something for all fans of the band. The fans were headbanging, bouncing around and had an older crowd surfer. This was a fun night out and if you get the opportunity to see this tour package, go!!!!
