SILVERTUNG, the Baltimore-based hard rockers, joined forces with Thermal Entertainment to release their newest album, (BUT, AT WHAT COST??!). Produced by Steven Wright (Slipknot, Mars Volta, Rihanna), the album is chock full of energetic rock anthems. The seven blistering tracks maximize heavy guitar riffs, thunderous beats, infectious melodies, and lyrical content that is raw and direct.
The listener is first pulled in by the slow interlude of “Dodging Bullets”, and the build-up of intensity puts you on notice for the rest of the album. Given a moment to catch your breath, the seamless transition flows into “Feel Inhuman”. This second track rings of a song that can easily be seen engaging an audience at a high-octane live show. “World Gone Mad” booms a powerful sound that echoes of a shared experience reflective to the happenings of the world around us. The song demonstrates extended textures of big rises and bending lows.
Wasting no time, “Wise Up” charges in and relentlessly fires with catchy, but blasting consistency. “Black Sunset” delivers both elements of a grittier sound and surging movement. Completing the heart-pounding experience are solid tracks, “You’re Fine” and “Done My Best”, both relentless in the high-energy level of passion clearly incorporated into the total album.
Silvertung has put the pedal to the metal on the pace of this album and it’s likely their efforts will translate into further thunder down the road.
