The last time I saw Possessed which is actually the first time I saw them live was when they headlined Carolina Chainsaw Massacre. For a number of people in the crowd it was their first time seeing them as I could hear the various conversations. Playing a mixed set of material mostly from their 1985 album ‘Seven Churches’ and 2019’s ‘Revelations of Oblivion’, they got the night started with classic death metal.

It has been over a decade since the last time I saw Kreator live, so I was really looking forward to this. Against a background that included demons and hanging bodies, the band played a killer set of songs that included at least one song from 1986’s ‘Pleasure to Kill” to 2022’s ‘Hate über alles’. Mille Petrozza at point called for crowd surfing and got what he wanted, but I’m sure security wasn’t thrilled.

I caught Testament last year as one of the bands on Headbangers Boat and it always a pleasure to throw down with them. They wasted no time in getting the crowd fired up and continued the crowd surfing assault as they played a set of songs from ‘The Legacy’ and ‘The New Order’. For fans of older Testament, this is your set!
