Upheaval Festival Delivers An Epic Two Days of Metal

Grand Rapids, MI – For the fourth year in a row, thousands of fans (affectionately referred to as UPRISERS) descended upon Belknap Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan for their fix of some of the hottest rock and metal acts the genres have to offer! UPHEAVAL FESTIVAL, hosted by MiEntertainment Group is quickly becoming one of the hottest festival tickets of the summer. DBM has been lucky enough to attend the festival since the inaugural uprising in 2021 (with the exception of 2023) and it’s easy to see how the festival has grown and improved over the last four years (and why it is such a fan favorite!). The team at MiEntertainment have a lot to be proud of and should be credited for the festival’s overall success.

This festival on the hill provides a two-day, in your face blast of metal/rock for UPRISERS of all ages to enjoy. It’s family friendly and it’s fun to witness “the littles” rock out just as hard as the adults. One note worth mentioning is that the UPRISERS are welcoming, helpful, and excited to be in their “happy place”. I’ve never witnessed such hospitality at a show – they look out for each other as sometimes the crowds or mosh pit can get a little “intense” but there’s always a helping hand (or two or three…) to make sure it’s a safe environment for all in attendance. Even the bands are paying attention and will quickly stop the show to make sure all are safe. Shout out to the security team for being fun, friendly and keeping the energy high for all to enjoy.

And it’s not just about the line-up! From a VIP area with their own bar access, lounging/viewing area, and “fancy, air-conditioned” restrooms to a stellar food line-up with several options to choose from to the shuttles to take you up “that damn hill” (it’s a beast); the MiEntertainment Group has thought of it all. There’s even corn-hole boards for general admission and VIP to help pass the time in-between sets or just to take a break from the crowd. If I were to make any suggestion to improve the experience, it would be to add an additional UPHEAVAL merch booth within the venue to help shorten the lines as it is always a popular spot.

Also worth a mention are the after-shows at a popular local venue, THE INTERSECTION. This year’s line-up consisted of AS I LAY DYING on Friday night and p.o.d on Saturday night.
