The Haunt Makes a Ghost(ly) Tour Stop at the Canal Club In Richmond

Richmond, VA – It was a nice night, two days before we entered the scariest month of the year, October! As fate would have it, Richmond concert goers were in for a treat (with no trick) as The Haunt, founded by Anastasia and Maximillian Haunt stopped by the Canal Club on September 29, 2026 to deliver a night of sibling rock!!!

The evening started as the opening band, Platinum Moon, rocked a fun set. I must say, I was impressed with their power and stage prowess. During the first couple songs, lead vocalist, AvA Anduze, paid homage to The Haunt with a 13 team jersey. They were a great opener and set the mood for the night. Rock out to their official video for “Lockdown NRG”

The middle band took me a little by surprise. They were a blast, but not a genre I could put my finger on… today. 8 Graves took the stage and gave the audience a look at the future of grunge… or future grunge. They are only three musicians but they pack the power of many. Grunge a little to their live video, “Doomsday (Live at Soul Train Studios)”

Anastasia and Maximillian entered with “Alone on Your Planet” followed by their hit, “Bad Omen“.  There was definitely a heavy rock, goth, grunge, emo feel to the music and the Canal Club attendees were getting into it!!

This tour is the Ghost Tour to promote their second album of the same name, Ghost. The album will be released on October 30 and they shared several released and unreleased singles with the fans!! While a lot of bands may play one or two unreleased songs from upcoming albums, The Haunt played several.

The middle set included, “Seasonal Depression“, “Misery Loves Company (I hate You)“, “Little Like Hell“, and “Cocaine“. The crowd was getting into every word, with one young man taking me back to my youth, almost slam dancing… without the contact! It was good to see the concert traditions of the past are still alive and well!!

They finished the main set up with old and new, including, “Until I Die” (video released three days after the show), “Cigarettes & Feelings“, “Ghost” (the title track from their upcoming album), “New Addiction” and “Leaving, I’m Done“.

The chants for “Encore, Encore” started immediately after the final note. The band did not even have to leave the stage… for long anyhow. The encore included “Six Feet Underneath” and “Masochistic Lovers“.

An evening that started with some good ol’ fashion rock, went a little gunge, and finished with a Ghostly mix of it all. Looking forward to see what these bands will be brining to the table in the future!!! Be sure to check them all out!! Pre-order Ghost HERE

Dave Pearson
Dave Pearson is based out of Richmond, VA by way of Hayward, WI. He has long had a passion for music. Growing up in rural Wisconsin, he rocked out to the likes of Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond, and The Lettermen. Then, one Saturday night, being the rebel he was born to be, he caught an Alice Cooper interview (it may have been on The Midnight Special) and saw him perform, “Welcome to My Nightmare”. Dave was hooked on Rock and Roll (and many other genres as well). Dave has enjoyed (amateur) photography to some degree most of his adult life. Recently Dave started to apply his event photography skills in various music settings with success. He finds that photographing a performance gives him a much greater appreciation for the artist.
