The End Hits Hard: Mammoth Electrifies Indianapolis
with support from 10 Years and James and the Cold Gun

Indianapolis, IN. – The Egyptian Room at Old National Centre in Indianapolis played host to a stacked night of modern rock as Mammoth brought their headlining “The End Tour” to the Circle City in support of their third studio album The End (out now via BMG). The tour, which features support from 10 Years and James and the Cold Gun, has positioned itself as a focused, no-frills celebration of contemporary hard rock, driven by musicianship and emotional authenticity. It was great to see the Indianapolis crowd respond with unrelenting enthusiasm; they just couldn’t get enough!

Opening the evening, James and the Cold Gun delivered a punchy, high-energy set rooted in gritty, garage-influenced rock. Formed in Cardiff, Wales by James Joseph (vocals/guitar) and James Biss (guitar, backing vocals), the band expands to a four-piece for live shows with Gaby Elise (bass, backing vocals) and Ben Hawkins-Mead (drums). Making their U.S. debut on this tour (and clearly humbled by the opportunity) they brought raw, immediate energy, built on driving riffs and a loose, dynamic feel that filled the intimate confines of the Egyptian Room. Their tight 30-minute set quickly earned an enthusiastic, fully engaged response from the crowd, setting the tone for the night.

Veteran alt-rock outfit 10 Years followed with a set that balanced intensity and atmosphere. Featuring Jesse Hasek (vocals), Matt Wantland (rhythm guitar), Brian Vodinh (lead guitar), Chad Greener (bass), and Brian Medeinos (drums), the band delivered a tight 45-minute performance that wove together fan favorites like “Wasteland” and “Beautiful,” alongside deeper cuts that showcased their evolving sound. Their set was marked by dynamic shifts from brooding, layered verses to soaring, anthemic choruses; highlighting both technical precision and emotional resonance. The band’s chemistry was undeniable, with Hasek’s emotive vocals leading a powerful, immersive experience that drew the audience in. The crowd responded enthusiastically throughout the set cheering and singing along; a true testament of the band’s lasting appeal and deep connection with their fans.

When Mammoth took the stage, the energy in the Egyptian Room shifted instantly. Led by Wolfgang Van Halen (vocals, guitar, keyboards, bass), and joined by Frank Sidoris (guitar, backing vocals), Garrett Whitlock (drums), Jon Jourdan (guitar, backing vocals), and Ronnie Ficarro (bass, backing vocals), the band delivered a meticulously executed set that highlighted both the depth of their third album, The End, and the evolution of their live sound. Opening with the hard-hitting “One of a Kind” followed by “Another Celebration at the End of the World,” the performance flowed seamlessly through fan favorites like “Distance” and “Don’t Back Down,” balancing aggressive riffs with melodic hooks. Wolfgang’s guitar work was precise yet emotive, and his vocals ranging from raw intensity to measured, soulful passages anchored the performance. He had mentioned at the first of the set that he’d been ill and apologized up front that his voice may crack but no apology was necessary! He gave the audience all he had to give! The rhythm section added layers of depth, particularly on newer tracks, giving the room a full enveloping sound despite the size of the room.

Throughout the set, the band maintained relentless momentum, with each song building on the last to keep the audience fully engaged. Standout moments included a Nine Inch Nails inspired rework of “Stone” and Tool’sLateralus” intro to “Take A Bow“, allowing the crowd to “air jam” along and react with palpable excitement. By the time the encore closed with “The End”, the night had solidified into a high-impact, emotional journey. The set reinforced Mammoth’s identity as a band capable of commanding attention through musicianship and authenticity rather than spectacle.
