SHEORU just announced the release of their second EP, Vantage. The seven-track EP includes the singles “HOOK//LINE//SINK” which was the first single released by their new lineup, and “Ruin”.
Reflecting on the band’s evolution, guitarist Danny Chu remarks:
“When we released Forever Sleep in 2022, we were surprised by the reception we received given the short time we’d worked on it. I knew deep down there was so much more we wanted to say and other forms of musical expression we wanted to put forth. When times were unsure, Thalia, Nick and Tanner’s paths converged with ours.
The lineup change came with its own anxieties, but once we got into the writer’s room, I knew this was it. This is what Zev, Tim and I started SHEORU to be and I hope that comes across in the music.”
Since their last release in 2022 they have added new members including the vocals of Thalia Tymowski, bassist Nick Thorpe, and drummer Tanner Lively.
Thalia reflects:
“Writing the Vantage EP was such a relief to me. It was my first time writing with SHEORU and immediately we all spoke the same language of expression. I think that comes across in the storytelling of this EP. I wrote these songs out of order and yet when they were ordered on the EP the story that I was trying to tell ended up coming full circle.”
The band shares:
“Vantage will always hold a special place in all of our hearts I think because it was full of a lot of firsts for us as a band. It showed us how much magic we can make when we come together in the writing room, and I know we are all excited to see where that takes us moving forward.”
