Virginia Beach, VA – Co-headliners Lynyrd Skynyrd, and ZZ Top along with Outlaws brought that classic Southern Rock with plenty of attitude and grit to Virginia Beach, Virginia for The Sharp Dressed Simple Man Tour on September 7, 2024. Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater was packed on a beautiful Saturday evening September 7th, 2024. Check out the galleries below by Annette Holloway Photography.
The legendary Hall of Fame band, Lynyrd Skynyrd was the highlight of the night. Their set began with videos of the original band members, invoking plenty of nostalgia for the packed amphitheater. Lead singer Johnny Van Zant did an incredible job honoring the legacy of his older brother Ronnie, who passed away in a plane accident. Johnny masterfully carried the torch singing all the classic hits such as “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Simple Man,” and more.

Outlaws opened the night setting the tone for that classic Southern rock sound. Hailing from Tampa, Florida, they came to fame with their 1975 hit “There Goes Another Love Song” and the extended guitar jam “Green Grass and High Tides,” both from their debut album, as well as their 1980 cover of Stan Jones’ “(Ghost) Riders in the Sky.”
