Chesapeake, VA – Gruesome delivered last rites to the crowd who made it to Riffhouse Pub on a Tuesday night with tour support from Washington, DC thrashers Desolus and local support from InbreHated.
Newly formed death metal outfit InbreHated set things off with a short set of songs. At times I thought I was hearing some deathcore elements in their music, not that it is a bad thing, just different. Hope to hear a lot more from them in the future.
It has been almost two years to the day since I last saw Desolus and these guys kick ass!!! If you haven’t seen them live, you should.

Two years ago I saw Gruesome for the first time at Carolina Chainsaw Massacre, and for me it was one of the highlights of the festival and was stoked when they announced the East Coast tour with a stop in Chesapeake. In a set that touched on all four of their albums, the band melted faces all around with death metal that highlighted their technical virtuosity.
