Baltimore, MD – Wouldn’t selling out the first stop of your first ever North American Tour be awesome? That is exactly what the Swiss symphonic metal band, Ad Infinitum, did when they kicked off their tour at the Metro Gallery in Baltimore, MD on February 6, 2026.

The opening band, Tulip, hailing from Texas, was the perfect band to setup the night. fronted by Ashleigh Semkiw (vocals) with Colin Parrish (guitar), Ryan Claxton (drums) and Cody Casillas (bass) delivering a sound that complimented what was to come. The sold out, intimate crowd at the Metro welcomed them with open arms. Check out a couple songs from their set, “Arabella” and “Ghost of Kyiv“.

Up next was Seven Spires, the band who was just announced as one of the headliners for Mad With Power in June! Adrienne Cowan (vocals), Jack Kosto (guitars), Peter de Reyna (bass) and Dylan Gowan (drums) stormed the stage to the enjoyment of the Baltimore audience. Looking around, Spires had quite a following in attendance and there were even a few east coast MWP attendees in the mix.

Throughout their set, which included “Love’s Souvenir“, “Architect of Creation“, and “Gods Of Debauchery“, the metal heat filled the room of the Metro. I am looking forward to their full set in a couple months in Madison, WI!

After the second short intermission, it was time for Ad Infinitum to make their US debut as a headlining band!! Members Melissa Bonny (vocals), Adrian Theßenvitz (guitars), Niklas Müller (drums), and Korbinian Benedict (bass) wasted no time in getting the packed Metro patrons banging heads in unison to “Upside Down“. No one was feeling alone, so many best friends that never met, all in once place!

While the stage was small, their presence was huge, kicking off their headlining repertoire with, “Aftermath“, “Somewhere Better“, and their newest single, “Regicide“. As the readers will note, their setlist was quite large and those in attendance seemed to know every lyric, every note, every riff of every one of their songs. With few unsung words between songs, Melissa and the band were killing it.

After “Anthem for the Broken” I left my near stage location and wandered around the venue to the best of my ability. To say it was packed was an understatement. This is what a headlining debut is supposed to look like. They brought out our wildest instincts with “Animals” before taking us to “Outer Space” to experience a “New Dawn“.

See You In Hell” from their first album, Chapter I: Monarchy, released in early 2020, brought back a fond memory of a not so wonderful time period (COVID), as it was the first Ad Infinitum song to grace by YouTube feed during the pandemic. The irony of theme and the timing of its release stands out to this day.

As they wound down the main set, they went “Marching on Versailles” (also from their first album) before finishing with “My Halo“.

After a brief ovation, they returned for a three song encore. They were “Unstoppable” telling us to “Live Before You Die” before ending, “Into the Night“. A fitting end to a wonderful night with three awesome bands on a small stage in Baltimore, MD. If the reaction of the sold out Metro was any indication of what was to come, Ad Infinitum’s success will surely continue… ad infinitum.
